We have been cooperating with REHAU Industries SE & Co. KG, Rehau, since 2023 in the area of the edgeband take-back concept ReTurn, and with Masterflex SE, Gelsenkirchen, since 2025 in the area of recycling of suction hose residues.
Power generation
NESTRO Lufttechnik GmbH has been generating its own electricity at its main location in Schkölen in Thuringia since 2013. More than 2000 polycrystalline photovoltaic modules on the entire flat roof and partly also on the facade bring it to a total output of almost 500 kWp. The electricity generated with these solar modules is used throughout the company and excess capacity is fed into the grid.
Electricity is also generated at NESTRO Hungária Kft. in Pécs, Hungary. More than 100 polycrystalline modules ensure a total output of 30 kWp.
Heat recovery
An internally developed heating system combusting environmentally sustainable material (straw) covers the heat demand in Schkölen since 2006. The system is complex. The downstream components include a.o. a straw shredder, the special boiler and a flue gas filter. In total, the system has a heating power of 500 kW. On a regularly basis emission values are monitored and fall short of the legal upper limits given.
NESTRO PPHU Sp. z o.o. in Olesno, Poland, use an innovative heat pump to heat and chill both office and factory buildings on a total area of 640 m². This modern equipment saves up to 75% of energy compared to other heating systems.
A woodchip boiler heats the office, the work hall and the warehouse in Pécs on a total area of 2000 m². The woodchips are shredded rest materials (packaging, broken palettes and plywood panels).
Charging infrastructure
In 2023, NESTRO installed two double charging stations in Schkölen, with two charging points of 11 kW each, for charging up to four electric vehicles at the same time. This allows employees to charge their electric company vehicles or visitors to charge their electric cars quickly and easily.
