The development of steel prices endangers SMEs

The price development in the steel industry has been steep since October last year. According to the steel price index from April 29th., 2021, www.stahl-kompakt.de for example, strip steel, hot-rolled - DD11, increased by whopping 46 percent. This price rally is endangering business development, especially in the small and medium-sized metalworking industry. NESTRO Lufttechnik GmbH is also forced to pass on at least part of this cost increase. As of May 1st., 2021, a surcharge of 13.2% had to be levied on the entire product range.
